Mount Desert Island Charter Destinations

Visit an offshore island for a picnic lunch, take a cocktail cruise before dinner, or explore storied shoreside dining establishments — all in the span of a few hours. We offer two charters per day —a day charter and an evening/sunset charter. You may also combine the charters for an action-packed day.

Here are a few of our more popular charter destinations:

Bakers Island, Acadia National Park

Bakers Island is part of Acadia National Park and home to the famous Baker Island Lightstation, marking the entrance to Frenchman’s Bay. The famous Bakers Island “Dance Floor” is a series of vast slabs of granite found on the south shore, smoothed flat by the tides. Explore this historic island and enjoy a picnic lunch, while overlooking Mount Desert Island’s rugged coastline.

Bar Harbor Tour

Want to check out Bar Harbor but take the scenic route? JERICHO can tour along the Eastern part of Mount Desert Island, rounding the rugged Otter Cliffs, you’ll pass by stately mansions and view some dramatic scenery as you cruise to Bar Harbor, where she can dock while you explore Bar Harbor. If you have plenty of time, you could even stop by Schoodic Point (another part of Acadia National Park) or Winter Harbor.

Picnic on Merchant Row

Merchant Row is a collection of islands right off the coast of Mount Desert Island and are some of the most beautiful islands on the East Coast (we think Maine is one of the prettiest places in the world!). Treat your group to a day on the water by setting off from Northeast Harbor, motoring by the famous Bass Harbor lighthouse, and casting anchor close to one of the islands. We’ll provide spectacular views and a unique boating experience, but we don’t provide food and beverage service, so you‘ll need to arrange this separately.

Marshall Island’s Sandy Beach

Do you like swimming, but find it hard to wade into the cold Maine water from rocks? Marshall Island, part of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, has a stunning sandy beach that will make you think you are in the Caribbean. Part of Jericho Bay (where JERICHO gets her name!), Marshall Island is approximately a 90-minute boat ride from Northeast Harbor. On this stunningly scenic route, you’ll pass through Blue Hill Bay, the beautiful Casco Passage, and land ashore for a day of swimming, hiking trails, and picnicking.

Wildlife Viewing

The waters around Mount Desert Island are filled not only with islands but also offer spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities. If you’d like to search for whales, porpoises, seals, and/or a variety of birds, simply let the captain know! Our captains also know all of the best places for sea glass hunting.

Dinner at Islesford Dock

JERICHO can whisk you away to the storied Islesford Dock Restaurant, where you can enjoy cocktails and dinner featuring classic Maine fare. We offer Full-Day & Evening / Sunset Cruises for up to 12 guests.

Islesford, also known as Little Cranberry Island, also has a village to explore, a famous gallery that is only reachable by boat and foot, and a unique chance at seeing working lobster boats in action!

Shoreside Dining

In addition to the Islesford Dock Restaurant mentioned above, these are some other dining options that can be reached by boat!

“I can’t imagine a visit to Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island without a day on Jericho — what a special and magical experience.”
